E-File Your 2014 Tax Return today!

The 2015 tax season began on January 20, 2015 and will end on April 15, 2015.

You can e-file your 2014 taxes with RapidTax throughout the 2015 tax season.

How to Get Your Refund Early in 2015

Want your refund as quick as possible in 2015? We don’t blame you. Follow these steps to receive your refund as quickly as possible;

1. Get Organized: Gather together all your tax information, tax forms, etc. that you’ll need to prepare your tax return. You’ll avoid wasting hours of your time frantically searching for them last minute.

2. Create a RapidTax account: At the start of January, RapidTax will have the 2014 Tax Application aviable for users to enter their 2014 Tax Return information. With that said, create an account on RapidTax at the start of the new year and start entering your tax information.

3. Choose Direct Deposit: If you opt to have your tax refund direct deposited into your account than you’ll probably receive it within 21 days. Avoid having your refund mailed to you via an IRS check, it will take much longer.

4. E-File: Electronically filing is MUCH faster than paper filing. Thanks to sites like RapidTax, you can e-file your taxes with ease, avoid waiting for your tax return and refund to be processed via paper filing (and of course, you’ll be able to skip a trip to the post office).

5. Avoid Mistakes: If you mis-report information on your tax return, the IRS may reject your return or take longer processing your return. Either scenario will cause a delay in getting your refund. To avoid this from happening, double check the information you’ve entered before submitting your tax return.

  1. Ok My e-mail file was accepted on January 16th and says,
“Your tax return is still being processed.
A refund date will be provided when available.
    Please Note:
For refund information, please continue to check here, or use our free mobile app, IRS2Go. Updates to refund status are made no more than once a day.”

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?! Please tell me what this means. I have nothing t received any mailings of issues and if there were any, it seems the could at least say, contact us. Can you offer information please? Thank you!

    1. Hi Deidra,

I can definitely understand your frustration. Unfortunately, at this time of year, the IRS is being bombarded with tax returns and people contacting them that the Where’s My Refund tool tends to be a bit delayed and/or unable to offer updates as frequently as we would like. The only advice that they can offer is to check back daily since they update once per day due to the high volumes of returns. They do frown upon contacting them for an update on your return since the only information that the representative will have is what you see on the Where’s My Refund tool.

  2. I file my taxes January 31st. got a Accepted February 1st I never received a DD date I just checked my account one day when I was putting my work check in my account and it was my state was there on the 18th. but when I’m checking for my federal this is still being processed when I called. the lady said it can take up to 6 to 8 weeks when should I respect my federal refund true I live in the state of Minnesota

  3. My tax return was accepted ob Feb. 7 & it stil says its being processed. is anyone else still getting this message 18 days later???

    1. Hi Anna,
Refund Approved status means your refund was approved and the IRS is preparing your tax refund to send to your bank or by check, in the mail. This refund status is the second stage of the IRS refund update and the next status will read “Refund Sent”, and this status will probably provide you with a date of when you can accept your refund. The entire process should take no more than a total of 21 days.

  4. Why does the IRS have separate recordings for those who filed on or before 1/27 vs after?? I am
Someone who filed on that date and still haven’t saw in progress in my return being approved. My bar online disappeared 4 days ago.
