Filing an Extension will push your deadline to October 15, 2014. That means, anytime between now and October 15, you’ll be able to log into RapidTax and file your 2013 taxes. If you qualify, you’ll actually still be able to e-file your 2013 return for free until the October 15th deadline.

What Else Should I Know About Filing An Extension?

If you have tax due, meaning you owe the IRS and you are filing an extension, you should pay the tax due by April 15, 2014. If not, then you will have additional interest penalty and will end up paying more in the long run.

Also, you’ll be able to file a federal extension on RapidTax, but if you need to file a state extension, you’ll need to contact your state authority.
